SAGSE Paraguay 2026 Sets a Milestone with a 100% Operational Day for Gaming Floor Technicians
August 5, 6, and 7, Hotel Casino Acaray, Ciudad del Este.
With more than 150 technicians, gaming floor personnel, security teams, operations managers, and surveillance staff in attendance, SAGSE Academy / College delivered an unprecedented hands-on training format for the regional gaming industry.
SAGSE Paraguay 2026 held its second day on Thursday, August 6, at Hotel Casino Acaray in Ciudad del Este, bringing together a record number of technical and operational professionals from across the gaming sector.
Under the SAGSE Academy / College format, more than 150 gaming floor technicians, operations managers, security personnel, surveillance teams, and operational staff participated in a full day dedicated entirely to practical training, knowledge exchange, and the professional development of those responsible for the day-to-day operation of gaming venues.
This initiative positions SAGSE Paraguay 2026 as a pioneering event in the region by dedicating an entire day exclusively to the technical teams that keep casinos, gaming halls, and connected systems running efficiently. In an increasingly demanding, regulated, and technology-driven market, training is no longer an added value—it has become a strategic pillar of the industry.
A Day Designed for the Professionals Behind the Operation
The second day began at 8:30 a.m. with breakfast and technician registration, followed by the official accreditation process for SAGSE Academy participants.
At 9:00 a.m., the technical program officially opened with welcoming remarks addressed to technicians, gaming floor managers, operations leaders, security personnel, and surveillance teams.
The objective was clear: to create a practical, actionable, and highly relevant training environment focused on the real challenges faced in daily operations.
Applied Gaming Floor Security: Prevention, Surveillance, and Operational Response
The first session was led by José “Pepe” Casapia Bardales, ALASCA Ambassador, who delivered the presentation: “Applied Gaming Floor Security”
The session covered incident response procedures, coordination between technical and surveillance teams, identification of critical risk points, event documentation, anomaly detection, and operational best practices.
The focus was on understanding security as an integral component of gaming operations—not only from a traditional surveillance perspective, but also through risk prevention, operational traceability, and interdepartmental coordination.
Online Systems, Ticketing, Measurements, and Technical Responsibility
The next session was presented by Daniel Placeres of Sielcon: “Technical Training in Online Systems”
Topics included communication protocols, machine connectivity, ticket validation, accounting systems, TITO, cashless technologies, testing procedures using measurement tools, fault identification, and technical responsibility on the gaming floor.
The session provided an in-depth look at one of the most critical aspects of modern gaming operations: the effective integration of machines, systems, controls, reporting platforms, and technical processes.
Artificial Intelligence Applied to Technical Diagnostics
Following the technical coffee break, specialists from SLOTIX presented: “Artificial Intelligence Applied to Slot Machine Technical Diagnostics”
The session explored the use of AI for expert diagnostics, guided repairs, fault analysis, case management, team training, and 24/7 technical support.
Attendees were able to see how artificial intelligence can become a practical tool for technicians, helping reduce diagnostic times, improve fault documentation, and strengthen operational knowledge throughout gaming venues.
Practical Workshop with Abilio Mancuello
The program continued with a hands-on workshop led by Abilio Mancuello, a Paraguayan electronic engineer, professor, and researcher affiliated with the National University of Asunción (UNA).
His presentation focused on best practices for gaming floor technicians, maintenance procedures, operational control, security protocols, measurements, ticketing systems, incident management, and machine connectivity.
The workshop reinforced the importance of understanding gaming operations from the perspective of the machine, the system, operational controls, and auditing processes, while providing practical tools to improve efficiency and security on the gaming floor.
Diplomas, Prize Drawings, and Technical Closing Session
At 11:50 a.m., the SAGSE Academy / College technical program concluded with final remarks, diploma presentations, prize drawings, and awards for participating technicians.
The day ended with a networking lunch for technicians, allowing continued interaction among gaming venues, operators, suppliers, specialists, and technical teams.
SAGSE Academy: Real Training for the Real Industry
With more than 150 gaming floor technicians actively participating, SAGSE Paraguay 2026 demonstrated that the professionalization of the gaming industry depends not only on major regulatory discussions and executive-level decision-making, but also on the continuous development of the professionals who manage operations every day.
This second day completed the comprehensive vision of SAGSE Paraguay: a first day dedicated to authorities, operators, regulators, and C-level executives, followed by a second day focused exclusively on technicians, operations, security, and applied training.
In this regard, SAGSE Academy / College has established itself as an unprecedented 100% operational training day within the regional gaming ecosystem, centered on practical knowledge, technology, security, online systems, artificial intelligence, and professional best practices.
